Randal Hume Keynes (born July 29, 1948) was an English writer and conservationist, who is the great grandson of Charles Darwin. He is the author of an intimate exploration of famous offspring, Annie's Box, subtitled Darwin, His Daughter, and Human Evolution (2001), a book about how Darwin's relationship with his daughter Annie, whose death greatly affected him for the way his gaze to God.
He has taken a leading role in efforts to have the Down House, Darwin's former home is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage List .. Keynes was the son of the Hon. Anne Pinsent (Adrian née) and psychologist Richard Keynes. He is the great nephew of John Maynard Keynes economical and brother of the historian and Cambridge professor Simon Keynes. He is the grandson of the surgeon Geoffrey Keynes, Nobel Prize-winning physiologist edgar Douglas Adrian, 1st Baron Adrian and Hester Adrian, Baroness Adrian.
Children Keynes, Skandar (born 1991) is an actor best known for his role as Edmund Pevensie in The Chronicles of Narnia. He also had a daughter, Soumaya (born 1989), who has appeared in productions for BBC Radio 4.
